Closer look at Android TV's game controller

With last weeks announcement of Android TV, a gaming controller was also shown off with the demo. A newly released photo has appeared of the controller, and there are a couple of noteworthy items. The controller features a d-pad, two dual analog sticks, YXBA buttons, shoulder buttons, and a home and back button. There is a circle button in the center that may give you info on achievements or friend requests, but that is a guess for now. We don't know yet if the controller has a rumble pack in it or how it charges, but usb is likely. It's resembles an xbox 360 and PS3 controller with the left analog stick swapped with the d-pad location, so that the dual sticks are across from each other. Similar on the left side to match a PS3 controller. In the above photo you can't see the two trigger buttons underneath, but in the picture below you can see at Google I/O they were visible.

While things can surely change between now and the release of Android TV and its gaming controller, it's also interesting that the home and back buttons are the KitKat icons. Android's new os, for now dubbed "L", has an updated icon look. See below.

KitKat on the right and "L" on the left.
