Songza purchased buy Google
Google's music services has just received a bit of a boost. Songza, the popular music streaming service, has just been purchased by Google. In a statement Google said, "We aren't planning any immediate changes to Songza, so it will continue to work like usual for existing users." The interesting takeaway from this is the next bit. Continuing, "Over the coming months, we'll explore ways to bring what you love about Songza to Google Play Music. We'll also look for opportunities to bring their great work to the music experience on YouTube and other Google products."
The long rumored YouTube subscription service and free service, as well as All Access should see a nice updated curated playlists. Songza is known for its playlists, the right song for the right activity. Finding new artist is something all the music services are trying to get perfect.
Another benefit to Google is the information. People everyday tell Songza the mood they're in, what they're doing, and what type of music they like and so on. Thumbs up and Google Now may pop up one day and say, oh by the way that artist is performing in your area soon, or that artist just released a new album.
