Android "L" to debut at I/O

I/O is a fast approaching and the news is a flowing. Bloomberg Businessweek sat down with Android and Chrome head honcho Sundar Pichai for a sneak peek at tomorrow and beyond.

I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner.
— Sundar Pichai speaking to Bloomberg Businessweek

Google generally waits until the fall to unveil their next version of their mobile operating system. One of the constant complaints from device makers is that when a new android version get released, they don't have enough time with the os. Unlike the one company selected to develop the Nexus device for that year. So how do you fix this, by demoing the os six months early for all to see. Sundar Pichai goes on to say “I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner,” speaking about the demo for Android "L".

Some other notes that aren't surprising. Android Wear will be shown off, he says “You obviously need to be able to measure these things so many more times and then apply more intelligence to it,” talking about heart rate and blood pressure.

Some love will also be shown to the debut of "Android TV". The details are being saved for I/O, but Businessweek does state that Pichai has brought everybody that was working on TV software into one group under Android.
